Rejoinder is a game that allows you to be interactive. It’s another follow directions game, and it’s adorable.
For starters, when you select the game, you are given four options. New Game, How to Play, High Score, and More Apps. The More Apps option takes you away from the app to the Digital Dandelion website. There you are shown additional games that can be purchased from this developer. The High Score option takes you to the highest scores, and your personal best scores. Moving to the How to Play option, you are giving the specifics on how to control, and play the app. Finally, let’s get to the good stuff – the New Game option.
So here’s how you play. You select a player, and you have four options. Once you select who you would like to play with, you begin the game. Your character is placed on the screen with a background scene. The music starts and a voice calls out instructions. The instructions are flip, tickle, jump, and stretch. To flip, you quickly and sharply turn your iPhone to the left or right. To jump, you push your iPhone straight up. To stretch, you rub one finger up your characters stomach. To tickle, you rub one finger up and then down your character’s stomach. As you go through the instructions and follow them correctly your advanced to the next level. Advancing level also unlocks the characters.
The graphics for Rejoinder is very animated and looks similar to a cartoon. As you perform the instructions, your character acts it out. As an example, if you are given the instruction to tickle your character, once you complete the steps, your character will laugh and giggle.
The music is nice also. While playing the game I find myself bopping to the music. This game is a lot of fun. Doesn’t offer a huge challenge requiring fancy moves or tricks but it will hold your attention as you attempt to follow every instruction yelled out to you.
Parents, this is also a safe app that is good for the children – no violence, no suggestive material at all. This game is a great buy. The only thing I would ask as an addition from the developer would be to add additional instruction in each level Perhaps gradually adding to the instructions and gesture that you have to follow to create more challenge.
